Riders and horses had a real good time at the Longines Masters of Hong Kong 2017. The longines speed challenge, and the longines grand prix were the two main highlights at the four day event in Hong Kong. Several of the top 10 riders presented their best horses with some great riding.

It was the most fastest and most exciting speed challenge I have ever seen in my life. Some great precision and accuracy was seen by Austria's Max Kühner and his mare Electric Touch, achieving the 6th place in the speed challenge. Also a very controlled round and great to watch was Quiet Easy and Bertram Allen with third place. Pius Schwizer being a little faster than Allen showed all he's got with his 11 year old gelding. There was just one rider who was able to go faster than Schwizer, with a 0.2 second lead germany's Christian Ahlmann was able to achieve the first place in the speed challenge of the longines masters in Hong Kong. We were able to see some great german precision with accurate and fast turns and loads of cheering of the massive international crowd of Hong Kong.

Sunday's final and biggest competition of the four day weekend was the Longines Grand Prix. The bars set at stunning 1.60m and the prize money being 132,000 US dollars for first place we saw five clear's in the first and second round. John Whitaker took in the fourth place with his mare Ornellaia. Yet it was topped with a great round by Max Kühner. Second and first place were held by two german riders. The legend Ludger Beerbaum and the 14 year old Cassello got second with some great riding. First place once again went to Christian Ahlmann and Caribis Z, even though he got a little out of control during the parcour yet keeping cool and riding a great round.
